IndyCar Star Power joins Lowe and Doran Racing for 50th Rolex 24 at Daytona
Villanova, PA - 18 January 2012
Jim Lowe will be gearing up for a higher level of excitement next week as legendary open-wheel champion Paul Tracy joins Doran Racing for the 50th Rolex 24 at Daytona. Tracy completes the four-driver line up making a significant addition to the roster of Brian and Burt Frisselle and Jim Lowe. ?I?ve watched Paul do some amazing things in Champ and IndyCar?, commented Lowe. ?Every race with him behind the wheel is exciting. I?m sure next week will be no different.? PT is no stranger to endurance racing having first competed in the twice around the clock enduro with Kevin Doran in 2005 driving a Doran JE4 and with Michael Shank Racing in 2006 and 2007. Earlier today Tracy tweeted ?I?m real happy to be running the Daytona 24 with Doran Racing in the #77 Combos, Circle K Ford DP entry. I am looking forward to meeting the Frisselle brothers. One of my fist big wins was in a Frisbee Can-Am car that their father built and designed.?
?I am delighted to be racing with Paul?, says Dr. Jim Lowe. ?He is an accomplished driver, fiercely competitive, and brings a wealth of experience to the team.?
Team Owner Kevin Doran is also pleased with Tracys? return. ?The 24 hours of Daytona is a tough race for all who compete. Paul?s definitely up for the task. I look for this race to be exciting, and I hope we are in the mix for the shoot out at the end.?
The action starts next Thursday when the whole team arrives for their first practice session in the 77 Doran Racing Combos, Circle K Ford Dallara, and then the official Rolex clock begins the 24-hour count down on Saturday, January 28th at 3:30pm. This 50th Rolex 24 will be anything but dull.
